The Hydra digital stepper drive is a high-performance stepper controller, suitable for running steppers in both closed and open-loop scenarios, allowing for an increase in efficiency and therefore reduction in power consumption.
Being able to operate in Closed loop with a stepper motor means you get the torque-density benefits of a stepper, while retaining the certainty of position you get with a traditional servo system. Designed for most demanding industrial, OEM, and scientific applications, our Hydra series is extremely rugged and has a low EMI profile. This makes it optimal for applications requiring long cables and for systems that demand low noise.
The Hydra digital stepper drive supports RS-485, USB, CANopen, analog or digital signals. Alongside the Hydra's built in single-axis motion controller for stand-alone operation, this dynamic functionality allows it to work for a wide variety of applications.
