Stepper Motors

A stepper motor converts digital information/instructions in the form of pulses into proportional mechanical movement - or steps. By varying the frequency of the pulses, the motor speed can be varied. Permanent magnet (PM) stepper motors (tin can versions) exhibit the traditional advantage of low-cost construction due to their extremely high-volume, simple design. However, hybrid stepper motors combine exceptionally high performance and torque with very economic pricing. Many hybrid stepper motors are also specifically designed for micro stepping to allow resonance and noise effects to be minimised.
