With 28mm frame size, the new AMT absolute encoders from CUI Devices output 12 bits or 14 bits of absolute position information with Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), RS-485, or Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) communication.
Based on proprietary capacitive technology, these absolute rotary encoders are not susceptible to environmental contaminants such as dirt, dust, and oil that typically plague encoders in industrial applications. The capacitive encoder models further offer users compact packages, current draw as low as 8mA at 5V, and operating temperature ranges from -40°C up to +125°C.
The AMT absolute modular encoders design simplifies the assembly process. They are also available as kits with simple mounting tools for easy installation. Our AMT20's absolute encoders support 9 different sleeve sizes from 2mm to 8mm, reducing the time consuming tasks of mounting and alignment to mere seconds with the One Touch Zero™ feature.
Combined with radial or axial cable connections and high accuracy of ±0.2 mechanical degrees, these AMT absolute encoders are a highly-flexible, durable and compelling solution for a range of industrial, automation, robotics, and renewable energy applications.

In order to provide maximum flexibility for our customers, the AMT absolute encoders are also provided in kit form standard with simple mounting tools for easy installation.
